Professional Investment Portfolio Management
Hello Friends and Families,
I'm the father of Ella in Mrs. Rowntree's class and a member of the Board since January 2015. We moved to Guelph so that we could enroll Ella in Trillium WS.
As a Chartered Investment Manager(R) and a fully licensed Advising Representative (under the Ontario Securities Commission as a discretionary a portfolio manager) I analyzed the gamut of investments -- stocks, bonds, Exchange Traded Funds, currencies, and even precious metals and commodities -- and designed portfolio management strategies on the "Buy Side" of the financial services coin. I have over 15 years of trading experience with half under the watchful eye of the OSC, having just resigned from a boutique Mississauga firm.
So that you know, the "Buy Side" is working for clients directly, as opposed to the "Sell Side" working alongside a financial institution. Different sides of the same coin, historically determined by account size, and personally a contentious issue.
Furthermore, I practice "active" management...buying AND selling AS REQUIRED to meet investment goals...especially in today's volatile markets. Only when an investment is sold that profits are realized OR capital is protected. Proper active management keeps the benefits of the investment outweighing the negatives of risk to capital and tax consequences. This results in more reward with less risk (it's the opposite of what most investors have been taught but the result is in the application of the strategy and arithmetic).
A case in point: in the previous firm clients' assets were moved into just under 100% cash ahead of the big crash of 2008. Please consider that -- in addition to market direction -- interest rates, currency exchange rates, and even the price of gold in Swedish Krona can all be determined with a very high degree of probability and substantially less risk.
Bottom line: my job is to take the worries out of the chaotic, stressful, complex investment world and engage your savings/capital in a portfolio management strategy that makes sense for you but most importantly makes a return on investments.
Knowledge is power! Feel free to ask me in confidence any question on any financial topic you might have.
